The BDS movement has long called out platforms that list and profit from properties in Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land, and BDS organisers have targeted Airbnb in coordinated campaigns to pressure the company to stop profiting from the occupation. BDS Movement
Independent investigations and UN reporting show that major travel platforms — including Airbnb — are linked to listings in settlements that international bodies consider illegal, and human-rights groups have urged companies to stop facilitating or profiting from activity that contributes to human-rights harms
Airbnb has publicly said it does not support the BDS movement and has given various statements about how it handles listings in disputed regions — but civil society groups and investigators say the company still needs to do far more to prevent its platform from enabling settlement expansion.
Telling a company you are boycotting them — and why — creates reputational and customer pressure that often matters as much as actually stopping purchases. A company that hears from thousands of customers that they will take their business elsewhere and tell their networks about it will change behaviour faster than isolated boycotts. So please: send the email now — that public pressure is a core part of our campaign.
Tonight’s action is the launch of the BDS Dump List — a rolling campaign that names one corporate target each week. We’ll run short, concentrated pressure windows (3–7 days) of emails, phone-days, local institutional asks (councils, unions, festivals) and social visibility. If Airbnb does not act, we escalate. New target next week.
